Putting Us on the Map of Global IC Design

We aim to position ourselves and help our country gain recognition as another IC design hub by helping develop our local talent to be globally competitive.

Bringing the Government, Academe and Industry Together

We hope to bring more value by bridging the gap among the different sectors of our country and enable a more comprehensive and unified approach to develop our capabilities and help the local design industry.

Training People

Develop courses suited for the local IC design companies such as in Layout Fundamentals, Analog/Digital IC Design Analysis, and HDL Design Methodology

Training Programs

The Philippine Institute for Integrated Circuits (PIIC) is a DOST funded project whose main objective is to address the human resource requirement of the local IC design Industry. To achieve this objective, PIIC developed a training program that exposes trainees to the fundamentals of IC design, from circuit analysis, simulation, to full custom layout and verification. In addition, each training module utilizes industry grade EDA tools to better prepare trainees in their future roles in the industry. All courses to be offered at the PIIC are designed to be laboratory intensive to provide an atmosphere that closely resembles the industry.

Faculty Immersion Program

The faculty immersion program of the PIIC is aimed at developing faculty members from our partner academic institutions. Through immersion with an industry partner or a research institute, the faculty will gain experience in IC design-related projects and research activities. These activities are designed to enable each faculty to develop, teach and improve their courses in electronics and IC design more effectively. This program also enables the industry partners to directly interact with the faculty to identify challenges in the academe’s microelectronics program. The faculty immersion program is an essential component of the PIIC project to achieving its goal of developing the IC design community in the Philippines.
